Today Brenda and I did Wilkie repeats - my first time on Wilkie! - and I thought I'd share the details from the workout. It's pretty cool software, even if it does burn through battery kinda quick.
Overall life and training is going well. Really happy having Julia home and for the most part I think kitty likes it.
Might even run a second time tonight - but not another strength running workout. Did one of those Tuesday night (in the heat - ack!) and another one this morning. Even with a massage Wed evening, my legs are quite a bit fatigued.
Still swimming over at Nitro in the early AM, though I missed Tuesday. Got that again tomorrow.
Anyone riding long this weekend?

Figured I wanted to be a bit more like Gordo, so I'm working on the 100 push up challenge. I'm only two days in (and today will be an off day) and wow, I'm a bit sore.
Julia's in town for the week so I didn't have to wake up and drive her to the airport this AM. Instead I woke up early and got in a 30 min run around the 'hood before catching the bus in to work. Thwe weather looks iffy at the moment, but I hope to ride a couple of hours after work.
Made it to Cailyn's bday party on Saturday morning and got to see a number of old friends I hadn't seen in awhile. Good times.
Overall life is going pretty good. I'm having to be careful about managing my workouts right now as I seem to have developed a bit of a nagging cough - annoying, but who knows, maybe I'm getting allergic to something?
We had a little Michael Jackson memorial party on Friday eve - we played some trippy MJ movie and random MJ/Jackson 5 music. We also had to make the usual bad jokes - we had cans of Pepsi next to the memorial photos and open flames, so we could fondly remember when his hair caught fire. We had an inflatable monkey there we called Bubbles and also had the bubble blowing stuff so people could blow Bubbles. I put out some trick or treat size candy with a note "Candy - for young boys only" and finally i did some grilling - people had their choice of little bite size weiners, bun-length weiners, or Brats, depending on your mood.
Overall it was a good weekend of training and relaxing and reconnecting with Julia.
Plans for this week - well, besides the usual work and training, nothing really comes to mind.
Oh, for those who didn't realize you could follow mojojoey's tbb updates on livejournal, I've syndicated the feed on LJ - just go to www.livejournal.com/syn and add mojotbbrss to your friends list!
I have very little recollection of much of my growing up and even though I know Michael Jackson was big then, I just have little recollection of him and just know of him really as an alleged kid toucher.
With that in mind,
As Farah passed away, her last dying prayer was that her children would
always be safe.
So God killed Michael Jackson...
Amusing.
It's early on June 1st and I've been on vacation for a week and spending more time interacting with people than usual. I've been somewhat amazed by the balls of many people... I.e. I've been actually impressed by the thoughtless, rude, or just amazingly selfish and bitch moves people will do and I am resolving to do something about it.
I will be starting work in one hour. At that time through the forseeable future, I am going to call people out on their shit when it comes up. I'm not going out of my way to tell you my opinion but if you come to me, I'm not going to be all 'poor you'.
Will I end up with less friends? Will I end up losing my job? Don't know and don't really care. [Update: Actually you know what? I'm making a prediction. I won't loose any friends (people I care about) and I won't lose my job. Why? Because we've become a world of pu**y little bitches. Seriously. Passive aggressive crap everywhere. It absolutely sickens me to see this. And we're raising kids to be this same way - did you know in many schools teachers are told not to use red ink when grading because that might cause negative emotions? GMAFB. It had better cause bad emotions. Guess what? You screwed up, you pay a penalty. Heaven forbid we teach kids such hard lessons]
Want to know why things seem so messed up in the world or in your life? Want to know how to fix it?
1) take responsibility for yourself and your actions. Simple and obvious.
2) be nice. Stop trying to get away with stuff, stop plotting to use others, stop acting entitled. Stop acting like you're the poor victim.
I look forward to the next level in 30 years when I become a crotchety senior citizen and start telling peole my unsolicited opinion. For now though, if you come to me , you won't find kid gloves. Fu*k that. Grow up. You've been warned.
p.s. this isn't just work I'm talking about.
Parents giving me crap for never posting...
Training the last few days has gone pretty well - on Friday Drew and I hit masters and usual and got a bit of a wake up call -they had switched the lane lines around so we went from swimming 25 yard lengths for a total of around 3400 yards to 50 meter lengths for a total of around 3400 meters - that means about a 10% longer workout, plus less turns / wall push offs which give you a little rest. We survived the workout just fine and besides being a bit tired, I was in a rockin mood all day on Friday.
On Saturday I Did the Armadillo Hill country classic ride - did the 105 mile option. Did a *much* better job of hydration / nutrition on the ride compared to the week before and wow, it's 6 months to my Ironman and here I have already done 2 100+ mile rides. Now if only I rode some other point during the week :P
On Sunday I was pretty sore for the ride - especially in my core. Guess I need to get my butt to the gym more for weights and such. Spent Sunday (and Saturday after I got done with the ride) helping with the Grandma move in. Things haven't been progressing as fast as I would like, but what does, ya know?
Didn't work on work stuff at all this weekend, which is a good thing. I still have a nagging issue with a database that I'd really like to get fixed today because I'm really tired of getting paged with nonsense at random times of the day and night. I think I've got a new DBA starting on Monday which should prove interesting and hopefully reduce my workload quite a bit once he gets up to speed.
Dropped my lovely Imzadi off at the airport this morning and it's off to the races.
Managed to find time this weekend to get caught up on 700+ web page tabs and the whole week's worth of newspapers - it's kind of funny to me how news that's only a week ago seems like a lifetime ago.
Looking forward to taking some time off in a couple of weeks to go visit the family in KY.
Laptop just told me that my battery is now fully charged. Sure feels like it's only about 60% - of wait, it's talking about the laptop battery, not my energy level.
.. and on that note, back to more geek fun. Is it Friday yet?
Been training regularly again - going with Iron Drew (aka Pops) over to Master's swim on Tues, Wed and Fri mornings. It's amusing to swim with real swimmers - Drew and I are some of the slowest people in the pool!! Just today some of our team mates swam the 1000 yards at Nationals - the slowest of which was at 1.06/100 yard pace. I think the best I've *EVER* swam a 100y in about 1.15, more like 1.20. And that was just 1, not 10 back to back, no stopping. Damn.
Rode the Shiner bash 100 mile ride last weekend. It was fun but I didn't realize how much sodium is in powerbar's drink (1000+ mg /liter) and so even though I was drinking lots, my body wasn't processing it. Joy. Anyhow I made it to Shiner eventually, had my 4 beers and brats and promptly fell asleep on the bus ride home.
On the work front, life's going ok. It's interesting work and it's a job.
Julia and I have been doing well - been fairly busy helping Grandma with her move into her new place (just across the street!) and also getting some painting and tree pruning done at our house.
So overall life's been going well, just rather freaking busy.
I do the twitter thing, I don't really ever log in to facebook, and I always plan on maintaing my LJ, then never get around to it.
That's life :P
Having said that, next week is our 3 year wedding anniversary. I have no clue what to get her, so I finally checked out what the traditional gift is for 3 year anniversary...
It's leather.
Let the smart ass comments begin!

I'm wearing a button up blue shirt, jeans, and brown leather boots. You were in a Santa Fe style t-shirt, purple jeans, big earrings and a beautiful smile. We were in the propane + propane accessories store and I filled your tank. Can I refill it?

In other news, all is going pretty well, training pretty consistently, the weather has been nice and work has been more good than bad.
Today's plan calls for going in to work here in a bit to do some off hours stuff, and then hopefully a ride or run later. Oh and helping Julia taking pics of some crazy wedding cakes.

Bike Valet
During the race Mellow Johnnys will provide bike valet at 8th &
Colorado (1 block West of Congress). It is far easier (and greener) to
see the race from a bike. Get out and cheer for your friends, enjoy
some cool bands, and then check your bike in at the finish line for
safe keeping. Just remember that no cyclists are allowed on the
course!

Note to self: When door is labeled PUSH, don't pull
My family Doctor just recently referred me to a "just out of medical school" female urologist. I saw her yesterday, and she's absolutely drop-dead gorgeous... as well as unbelievably sexy.
She told me that I must stop masturbating.
I asked her why, and she said, "Because I'm trying to examine you......"
As long as the kitty and the girl are comfortable...
I highly recommend getting any social interactions done before then :P
On a more serious note, life's going great, just a bit busy with work and me (finally) being consistent about my training.

To: Bank of America, CITI, etc.
Dear Sirs,
In view of what seems to be happening internationally with banks at the moment, I was wondering if you could advise me about the following:
If one of my checks is returned marked "insufficient funds," how do I know whether that refers to me or to you?
